As a clinical immunologist and allergist, rheumatologist at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand I work by exploring story factors, mind and body connections, which explore the meaningfulness of disease, using the best biomedical care but treating the whole person in a compassionate relational manner. Havening is a great tool with a lot of potential applications worth researching and bringing into clinical practise. I’ve found it useful for patients with food anxiety after anaphylaxis, idiopathic anaphylaxis, chronic urticaria, needle phobia, and autonomic dysregulation from medical trauma. I am grateful I now have the opportunity to practise and research havening for embodied traumatic experiences.
